§ 01 — Rapid Prototyping

From CAD to hand in 24–72 hours.

Functional prototypes for product designers, engineers, and inventors — printed in Larnaca, not shipped from a hub abroad. Iterate in plastic before committing to tooling, machining, or moulds.

Why prototype locally

Every iteration you wait on is a week your project stands still. Printing in Cyprus means no customs, no international shipping, and no time-zone lag on questions about your part. Local pickup in Ormideia is welcome by appointment, and courier delivery to Nicosia, Limassol, or Paphos is usually next-day.

Quotes go out the same day. Most prototypes are ready in 24 to 72 hours from the moment we have a print-ready file — and if your file isn’t print-ready, we’ll fix it before anything hits the build plate, so there are no surprises mid-print.

How it works

Send an STL, STEP, 3MF, or OBJ — STEP is preferred for editable parts; STL is fine for direct-to-print geometry. We check every file for printability first: wall thicknesses, overhangs, tolerances, mesh errors. Minor fixes, scaling, and hole adjustments fall inside the first 30 minutes of CAD work, which are free on every project.

Parts print on a calibrated FDM fleet with monitored prints and a working tolerance of ~0.1 mm. Single pieces go up to 370 × 370 × 370 mm — roughly 50 litres of usable volume — and anything larger is split into sections and bonded in post-processing.

Choosing a prototype material

For visual prototypes and display models, PLA is fast and clean. For functional testing — brackets, enclosures, anything that gets handled or lives outdoors — PETG or its tougher, chemical-resistant sibling PCTG. Heat resistance calls for ABS or ASA; flexible parts print in TPU; and high-strength engineering prototypes run in carbon-fibre nylon (PA-CF).

Not sure? Describe what the part needs to do and we’ll recommend the material — not just whatever’s loaded on the build plate.

Prusa XL printing a batch of mounting clips on the Larnaca print farm
Mid-print on the XL — clips, straight off the CAD
White 3D printed structural bracket prototype with mounting flanges and bolt holes
Engineering prototype — flanges, bosses, bolt holes, printed overnight

Prototyping questions, answered.

How fast can I actually get a prototype?

24 to 72 hours from a print-ready file for most parts. A typical small functional part takes 2–6 machine hours; a larger enclosure runs 12–30 hours. We confirm a firm lead time with every quote, same day.

My STL has errors — is that a problem?

Usually not. Cleaning up a bad mesh, scaling, or adjusting holes falls inside the first 30 minutes of CAD work, which are free on every project. If the repair is bigger than that, we quote it upfront before starting.

Will you keep my design confidential?

Files you send stay yours. We don’t share, reuse, or display client work without permission — and NDAs are fine. Send yours with the brief and we’ll sign before any files change hands.
