§ 04 — CAD & Design Services

Don’t have a model? We’ll make one.

Full industrial design service — concept sketches, CAD modelling, design-for-manufacture refinement. Bring an idea, leave with a printable file and a finished object.

From napkin to parametric

Most projects don’t start with a STEP file. They start with a sketch, a photo of something similar, or a sentence: “it needs to hold this, here, and survive outdoors.” That’s enough. Concept development, parametric modelling, and mechanical design happen in-house, and because the print farm is in the same building, every design decision is checked against how it will actually be made.

Design-for-manufacture, not just design

A model that looks right on screen and a model that prints strong, clean, and economically are different things. DFM refinement is part of the service: wall thicknesses, print orientation, tolerances for fits and threads, support strategy, and material choice all get designed in — not discovered on the build plate. If you already have a design, we’ll refine it for production rather than starting over.

Transparent pricing, yours to keep

The first 30 minutes of CAD work on any project are free — minor fixes, scaling, hole adjustments, repairs to a bad mesh. Past that, a €50 minimum applies and design work bills at €100 per hour, always quoted upfront so you know the cost before we start.

Files you commission stay yours. We don’t share, reuse, or display client work without permission, and NDAs are signed before any files change hands if you need one.

From sketch to shelf-ready object, in-house
Custom personalised figurine designed and 3D printed as a one-off gift
One-off figurine — modelled from photos, printed once
Scale model of an X-leg round dining table 3D printed in wood-fill filament
Furniture design, proven at 1:10 before the first board is cut

Have an idea? Describe it. We’ll take it from there.

Design questions, answered.

Do I own the CAD files afterwards?

Yes. Files you commission stay yours — we don’t share, reuse, or display client work without permission. You receive the printable files, and editable formats where agreed in the brief.

What do you need from me to start?

Anything that communicates the part: a sketch, a photo with measurements, the broken original, or a written description of what it needs to do. STEP files are preferred if you have an existing model to refine.

Can you improve an existing design for printing?

Yes — design-for-manufacture refinement is a standing service. Wall thicknesses, tolerances, orientation, and material choice get adjusted so the part prints strong and economically. Small adjustments often fit inside the free first 30 minutes.
